How We Review E-Bikes
VoltRide exists to answer one question: which e-bike should you actually buy? Here's exactly how we produce every review and guide on this site — what we do, and what we deliberately don't do.
Where our data comes from
- Manufacturer specifications only. Motor wattage, battery capacity, claimed range, weight, payload, and pricing all come from the brand's official website or official spec sheets.
- No invented numbers. If a manufacturer doesn't publish a figure, we say so instead of guessing.
- Range figures are the manufacturer's claims, not our measurements. Real-world range varies with rider weight, terrain, assist level, and temperature — we say this in every review.
What we never claim
- We never write "we tested" or "we rode" about a bike we haven't physically ridden.
- We never invent performance results, durability verdicts, or ride-feel descriptions.
- Our comparisons are spec-based analyses: we line up verified numbers and explain what they mean for different riders. When hands-on testing happens in the future, those articles will say so explicitly.
How we choose what to review
- We focus on buyer-intent questions real shoppers ask: best folders under a budget, best bikes for seniors, direct head-to-head matchups.
- We compare bikes real buyers cross-shop — similar prices, similar use cases — not random lineups.
- Every review lists strengths and weaknesses. A review with no downsides isn't a review.
How we keep content fresh
- Weekly: new reviews and guides are published on an ongoing schedule.
- Monthly: prices and key specs on existing articles are re-verified against manufacturer pages.
- Every article shows its published and updated dates at the top. Prices change frequently — we always advise verifying at the retailer before buying.
